This posting is to establish an eligibility list for future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.
There is currently a temporary position until March 31, 2022 which may be extended and which may become permanent.
This position can be temporarily performed virtually due to the current extraordinary circumstances related to COVID-19.
This will remain in place until physical distancing advisories are lifted.
Due to present physical distancing requirements related to COVID-19, the recruitment process for this competition will take place virtually.

StudentAid BC (SABC) assists more than 200,000 eligible students and borrowers in B.C. with the cost of their post-secondary education and training through various financial assistance programs, such as student loans, grants, bursaries and scholarships.  SABC is responsible for setting the strategic direction of student financial assistance within B.C., including representing the Province in federal-provincial/territorial policy negotiations to maximize federal funding for the benefit of B.C. students; and the development and management of student aid programs totaling more than $700M in combined provincial and federal funding for demand driven programs. 

The Business Application Advisor (BAA) administers and maintains the business application for a program area. The BAA works as part of the Business Solutions team to represent the program area in the design, development, and ongoing implementation, enhancement and maintenance of business applications that meet current and future operational needs.  Activities during the temporary assignment will focus on testing and developing/maintaining training materials to support the implementation of a new business application.   The Business Solutions team is also responsible for conducting research, business analysis, and the development and implementation of strategic policies. This position requires someone who is organized, a fast learner, flexible, and a team player.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Diploma in public or business administration or related area;
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • 2 or more years experience in working collaboratively with various stakeholders on business process change involving automation.
  • 2 or more years experience with business applications including implementation planning and testing, security and the development of analytical reports.
     

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • 1 or more years experience developing training materials and providing training on business systems.
  • Experience providing customer support services in a business environment helping end users understand new software.
  • Experience with project management.
