The Resource Management Division (RMD) provides a wide range of corporate functions for the Ministry, including budgeting and financial support services, strategic human resources, workplace and facilities support, and risk management and emergency preparedness.

Within the RMD, the Management Services Branch provides corporate services to Ministry staff through financial, procurement, workplace and strategic human resource support. MSB enables the Ministry of Education to achieve its business objectives by promoting financial accountability, providing expert financial and business advisory services, enabling a safe and healthy workplace, and by providing strategic human resource leadership.

The Manager, Procurement and Risk is responsible for financial and procurement policy development and application within the ministry.  The position also provides assurance over the ministry procurement life-cycle for complex procurement practices that are considered high profile, high risk, high dollar value and politically sensitive.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, designation or equivalent in related field (i.e. business administration, procurement and contract management learning and development, risk management or law) an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience.
     

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in the full procurement life cycle.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience analyzing complex issues, evaluating options and recommending solutions.
  • Experience in providing advice and making presentations to senior managers.
  • Experience in policy analysis and development, including interpreting and applying policy, legislation, and regulations.
