Kelvin Chan.

Dr.

Chan is a Medical Oncologist and Associate Scientist with the Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI), Co-Director of the Canadian Centre for Applied Research in Cancer Control (ARCC), Clinical Lead with the Provincial Drug Reimbursement Programs at Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario), Associate Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.

While Dr.

Chan will act as the primary supervisor, there are various opportunities for collaboration with other health services researchers.

The primary interest of this group includes cancer health services research studying processes, structures and outcomes of care using Ontario health administrative data to generate real-world evidence.

This will be a one-year position with the possibility of renewal, affiliated with ICES and ARCC.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Epidemiology or Health Services Research, with an interest in pursuing a full-time career in academia.

This fellowship opportunity is intended to provide the candidate with additional experience in research, as well as mentorship, prior to the commencement of their academic career.

The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for conducting and facilitating oncologic health services-related research projects and studies.

This may include assisting with research protocol development, performing data analysis, aiding with the preparation and publication of manuscripts, and assisting with grant applications, among other research activities.

Grant Supported Projects: Developing a Framework for the Incorporation of Real World Evidence into Cancer Drug Funding Decisions in Canada Assessing the Real-World Outcomes of Emerging Disruptive Technologies in Oncology: The cases of biosimilars and CAR T-Cells.

Measuring the Real-World Health Utilities of Patients Receiving Publicly Funded Systemic Therapies Risk of osteoporosis and fractures in individuals with cancer COVID-19 and Cancer Essential Qualifications: PhD in Epidemiology or Health Services Research Demonstrated interest/prior experience in health services research and clinical epidemiology Strong and thorough understanding of research design, research methodology, data analysis, and biostatistics Advanced experience with statistical software packages (e.g.

SAS, SPSS.
