Sr. Instructional Designer, Learning Development

Why is this role important?

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning and Development, the Learning and Development Senior Instructional designer will be responsible to design, develop, and manage the training content that aligns with the overall organizational strategy and values.

This role will require the ability to create content, manage deployment of training through the Learning Management System (LMS) and measure the success of training to ensure it enhances performance capabilities and knowledge retention of employees.

The Learning and Development, Instructional Designer is responsible to: Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to assess training needs and ensure training is aligned with business objectives Develop and execute comprehensive learning and development program and continuous learning initiatives for both PC Financial and The Mobile Shop Collaborate closely with the business to recommend customized learning solutions through innovative curriculum design and modes of delivery that engage and enhance performance and behavioral development for a national workforce Measure, track, manage, and report results of all learning activities to leadership and stakeholders Design and develop a range of delivery platforms such as virtual-instructor-led training, e-learning modules, self-paced web, video, and blended learning to meet the learner and business needs Develop post training support and reinforcement tools to sustain behavioral change and drive improved performance and business outcomes Conduct ongoing organizational needs analysis and ensure learning solutions support business growth and change Select appropriate learning methodologies that support learning needs and provides an engaging learner experience LMS (Axonify)
– manage content library and course curriculums in the system; add and remove content as required and keep the content current consistently Conduct research on best practices, emerging learning and development trends, and new products and learning solutions; makes recommendations for continuous improvement and effectiveness Builds tools and strategies to ensure knowledge retention and coaching Facilitate virtual trainings and train-the-trainer workshops as required Awareness of learning and development trends within and outside the industry, to bring practical and cost effective best practices to the company Other projects as required What You’ll Need: University Degree in adult education, instructional design, or education 5-7 years direct experience developing company learning and development programs for all levels of leadership through a variety of mediums Strong instructional design skills; adapted for different audiences and mediums Learning Management System (LMS) administration preferred Strong relationship management skills Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands in a fast-paced environment How You’ll Succeed: At Loblaw, we seek great people to continually strengthen our culture.
