Currently there is one (1) temporary opportunity until December 5, 2022.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
This position is excluded from union membership.

This position can be based in any SDPR ministry office (subject to operational requirements and space availability), locations may include but are not limited to: Nanaimo, Victoria, Vancouver, Kamloops, Nelson, Prince George.

The Strategic Human Resources and Communications Branch, in the Corporate Services Division, is a group of dedicated professionals, located across the province, who provide exceptional service through a client-centric approach. The branch provides expertise in corporate communications, inclusion, diversity, and cultural safety, strategic human resources and human resources (HR) analytics and research.

The SHR Analyst is part of the Workforce Intelligence and Research team, which provides insights from employee-based analytics and research to support evidence-based decision-making in the ministry.

Reporting to the Director, Workforce Intelligence and Research, the SHR Analyst researches, analyzes and reports on ministry and industry HR trends, forecasts, demographics and issues to support operational and strategic initiatives and best practice approaches to workforce planning and organizational development. This role also contributes to the development of HR projects, initiatives, and activities.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (such as statistics, mathematics, human resources, public administration, business administration or social science field) and minimum 1 year *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and *related experience may be considered.

*Related experience must include the following:

  • Experience with reporting and analytics, including data extraction and report development.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Experience working with human resources information systems.
  • Experience working with Corporate and Human Resource Information and Payroll System (CHIPs).
  • Experience working with PowerBI.
  • Experience in quantitative research.
