BAND 2 – Strategic Human Resources Consultant

This is a Full-time position in Victoria, BC posted June 13, 2021.

Strategic Human Resources Consultant Management Band 2 This posting is to establish an eligibility list to fill both current and/or future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.

This role can be performed from any of the following communities: Kamloops, Nanaimo, Surrey, Vancouver, or Victoria.

A rewarding leadership role for a skilled, big-picture thinker with outstanding communication skills The Strategic Human Resources Branch is comprised of five distinct but interconnected teams who work in partnership with our clients and stakeholders to provide responsive and innovative strategic human resource advisory services, planning, reporting, programs and organizational learning and development as well as leadership programming.

The Strategic Human Resources (SHR) Consultant provides strategic advice and consultation on the development and implementation of the Ministry’s workplace retention strategies and programs.

This position will lead the development and implementation of corporate-wide programs, services and initiatives related to staffing, retention, succession management, workforce planning, and employee engagement.

In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert to provide Organizational Development and Human Resources strategies and recommendations to internal clients and partner with external stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, social sciences, business administration or related field and a minimum of two years of related experience; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience must include all of the following: Experience in at least one of the following areas: recruitment, retention, organizational development, workforce planning, employee engagement, or employer branding and/or marketing.

Experience building partnerships, facilitating discussions, consulting with, and/or providing expert advice to clients and/or stakeholders (internal/external).

Experience developing or managing human resources programs.

Preference may be given to those with: Three years or more experience in the required statements above.

Experience analyzing workforce data from multiple data sources to make recommendations in support of programs and initiatives.

Experience making presentations (in writing and verbally) to Executive and senior management for information or endorsement.

Experience managing projects or project components.

Experience providing human resource advice and expertise to managers/supervisors.

Experience working in the public sector.
