Senior Manager, Operational Risk Quality Assurance and Compliance

Purpose of Job: The Senior Manager, Operational Risk Quality Assurance and Compliance is a key role within Operational Risk that supports the quality assurance program and demonstrates the Operational Risk program’s compliance to relevant regulatory and internal Bank standards.

The Senior Manager Operational Risk Quality Assurance and Compliance contributes to the overall success of the Global Operational Risk team by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

The Senior Manager Operational Risk Quality Assurance and Compliance ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
• Participates in the development, execution and reporting of the Quality Assurance Program of the Operational Risk Management Framework and individual program components.

This may include global interaction and oversight of work performed in local operational risk teams.

• Prepares and completes internal and regulatory compliance self-assessments as assigned.

• Provides support for regulatory meetings and reporting, including OSFI’s quarterly monitoring meeting.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

• Supports other projects as required.

Job Requirements: Undergraduate Degree or higher and /or 3-5 years relevant work experience in Operational risk management or internal audit or other relevant areas.

E xcellent written and verbal communication skills required to prepare communications and interact effectively with senior levels of management throughout the Bank.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills with ability to clearly articulate ideas.

Strong business acumen and ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities under time pressure without compromising quality.

Strong relationship management skills; ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships.

Demonstrated ability to complete and analyze quantitative and qualitative research.

Demonstrated excellent MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.

Spanish fluency is an asset.
